Information for All Community Listservs
Any file attachments aside from those with extensions TXT, HTML, and PDF will cause an email to any of the listservs to be rejected.
All postings to the listservs will have appropriate bracketed headers inserted into their subject lines.
A complete list of commands that the listserver accepts can be obtained by sending an email to listserv@listserv.vt.edu with “info refcard” as the body.
HILLCREST-OFFICIAL
This listserv distributes official announcements to the Hillcrest Community. Posting rights are limited to the Honors staff and Community members who must regularly post official announcements. Community members are required to subscribe to this list.
To join the listserv, send an email to listserv@listserv.vt.edu with “subscribe hillcrest” as the body. To sign off of the listserv, send an email to the same address with “signoff hillcrest” as the body.
HILLCREST-FORUM
This listserv facilitates open discussion of issues concerning the Hillcrest Community. Posting rights are open to all Community members as well as the Honors staff. Community members are not required to subscribe to this list.
To join the listserv, send an email to listserv@listserv.vt.edu with “subscribe hillcrest-forum” as the body. To sign off of the listserv, send an email to the same address with “signoff hillcrest-forum” as the body.
To receive a daily digest of listserv postings rather than individual emails, send an email to listserv@listserv.vt.edu with “set hillcrest-forum dig” as the body. To switch back from a digest to individual emails, send an email to the same address with “set hillcrest-forum nodig” as the body.
HILLCREST-ALUMNI
This listserv facilitates open discussion among alumni of the Hillcrest Community. It may be used to locate old friends, organize reunions, and announce personal milestones. Posting rights are open to all Community alumni as well as the Honors staff. Alumni are encouraged to maintain subscriptions to this list with their future email addresses.
